Carbon Dioxide Sequestration...

The least expensive cure for the potential problems caused by global warming is to 'bury' the carbon dioxide and sulphur fumes created by the burning of fossil fuels. If these greenhouse gasses are pumped back into the earth -- into deep limestone strata -- they will be entombed in these 'sinks' for thousands of years by the same geophysical principles that have locked-in our natural gas and oil reservoirs for eons.

By using these tested and proven sequestration principals, coal and gas-fired electric plants will be able to burn high-sulphur fuels without resorting to costly scrubbers, while maintaining zero-emissions for greenhouse gasses. America will then be able to increase it usage of its vast coal resources while eliminating the importation of oil from terrorist countries who are our sworn enemies.

By combining the sequestration process with near-depleted oil wells, the output of these marginal wells can greatly increased while staving off the looming effects of global warming. In such a scenario, the sequestration process would be not only be low-cost but in actuality a highly profitable venture for the power companies. Economically speaking, the mitigation of greenhouse gasses by sequestration is a win-win situation for all concerned -- business, the general public and the world we pass on to future generations.

The drummers of a global doomsday purport the need for us to convert to a global low-carbon economy. Such an ominous direction would not only stifle future growth for third world nations but would also create a global depression worse than the potential damage posed by climate change. What these doomsayers forget is that it is imperative that environmentalism and economic growth go hand in hand in the battle against the effects of global warming.

GETTING ON THE GRID: Realistically, we as individuals have little impact on our world, but collectively the effect is enormous. The most important thing we can do is get on the grid -- all of our energy should come from our local electric company! As individuals we cannot sequester the greenhouse gasses we create -- only the electric companies do that. In many cases government agencies will need to step in to prod the electric companies into doing the right thing -- especially when they are dealing with older facilities.

WHAT INDIVIDUALS NEED TO DO: Shut off your gas connection: Convert gas water heaters to electric. Convert gas furnaces to electric. Convert gas fireplaces to decorative electric versions (anything burned in a fireplace will create greenhouse gasses!). Convert desert-scape, zero-scape and xeriscape lawns to real grass lawns. Plant broad-leaf trees to absorb carbon dioxide and cool your environment. And most important! -- Drive a Plug-In Gas-Electric Hybrid! With a Plug-In Gas-Electric Hybrid the majority of greenhouse gasses will be safely sequestered, never reaching the atmosphere.

Creating A Carbon Economy

Our new systems make carbon sequestration profitable and overcome
the objection to it by creating a new carbon economy wherein it has
value and is not waste. We use carbon to enhance agriculture and save
most of the 70% of all water now used in agriculture.

The systems are under Patents Pending. You can read all about it at
our website at: http://www.geocities.com/profadrian/SCAF.html

Very good ideas here. It may seem nobody listens to them, but this is not the case!

A small problem with shallow limestone strata . . . that's where the ground water lives. We don't want to introduce large levels of CO2 or even small levels of sulfur.
